Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre

Originally constructed for the 1982 Commonwealth Games, a new athletics track was installed in 2001 to cater for the Goodwill Games.

During it’s colourful history, the stadium has been known as the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium and more recently ANZ Stadium, and is the former home of the Brisbane Broncos NRL Club.

The Davis Cup has twice been played at the stadium, with a temporary court installed and seating rearranged to suit the crowd.

Suncorp Stadium

The Suncorp Stadium is a state of the art 52,500 venue with a capacity for a large range of uses.  The cauldron like design and the proximity to the field ensures patrons the best view and atmosphere and is ideal for local and international rugby league, rugby union, football and outdoor concerts.

The stadium is fully licensed, boasting 32 bars and 24 food and beverage outlets. Merchandise outlets selling related items are located at the North and South entrances and there is a Stadium Shop permanently located at the stadium.

See the bronze statue of the ‘Emperor of Lang Park’, Wally Lewis, a tribute to a wonderful career spanning over 30 years as player and skipper of Queensland Rugby League. Walk the Queensland State of Origin ‘Walk of Fame’, each player immortalized with a personal plaque featuring their name and the number of times they represented Queensland.

The stadium is also home to the Lang Park PCYC Community and Sporting Complex.

The Sleeman Centre

Sports fanatics will think they've died and gone to heaven at the Sleeman Centre. Originally built to host the 1982 Commonwealth Games, the venue has been continually upgraded, and has since hosted the 1994 World Masters Games and the 2001 Goodwill Games.

The venue boasts a state of the art Indoor Aquatic Centre featuring an Olympic size pool, a moveable bulkhead enabling the centre to adapt to host short course events, a world class diving pool, and seating for over 4300.

The centre also boasts a 3000 seat Cycling Velodrome and a fully equipped Gymnastics training hall. The 2,630 seat Indoor sports arena is suitable for basketball, volleyball, badminton and is home to the Queensland Firebirds Netball team.

Various function rooms and special facilities are available for general hire, and are suitable for conferences, concerts and special functions, and the centre also boasts an intimate 1500 seat theatre.

The fully equipped H2O Fitness Club will help you acheive your fitness goals, and the Puddleducks Child Care facility can look after the littlies while you workout.
                 
Regular activities include swimming and swimming lessons, diving, aqua pilates and water aerobics. Sporting fixtures are held for Indoor Soccer, Cycling, Basketball, Swimming and a number of other sports.

The Sports Centre
Brisbane Entertainment Centre

The Brisbane Entertainment Centre also features Queensland's largest contemporary indoor sporting venue.

A number of sports are regularly played at the centre including netball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer and 'Toddler Tennis'. The venue also hosts a wide variety of martial arts clubs.

The centre is home to seasonal 'social' fixtures of a weeknight in the sports of basketball, netball and badminton and is home to the Northside Wizards Basketball, Boondall Indoor Soccer and Queensland Volleyball.

Facilities at the fully air-conditioned centre include electronic scoring, general equipment for primary sports, 4 sets of team dressing rooms equipped with showers and changing facilities, a fully licensed bar and snack facilities, meeting room facilities, disabled facilities and extensive carparking.

Royal National Agricultural Showgrounds
Sideshow Alley, the Ekka, Courtesy of Tourism Queensland

The RNA Showgrounds is home to Brisbane’s Agricultural show, the Ekka, held over 10 days each August. 

Over the course of it’s 130 year history, the ‘Ekka” ground has hosted ‘inter-colonial’ tennis games, cricket matches, rugby league, athletics, trotting, cycling and Speedway Racing.

The Exhibition Grounds became a staging camp for the Armed Services during the Secong World War. The legendary Don Bradman debuted at the Exhibition ground when it was the venue for first class cricket from 1893 and 1931.

Nowadays, the Exhibition Ground is used mainly for equestrian events and speedway racing, and of course, the annual Show.
