Driving and Parking in Brisbane

The Gateway, Logan and Port of Brisbane Motorways form a convenient road network that offers motorists a premier transport corridor, which bypasses congested metropolitan centres.

The Brisbane City Council regulates on-street parking in the Central Business District and inner city suburbs. Parking in the city isn’t always easy, but pay attention to the signs because the fines are much more expensive than the cost of the meter.
Parking is available at:
Brisbane City Council Carparks
King George Square Carpark
Wickham Terrace Carpark
Wilson Carparks
Parking Meters:
Many streets in Brisbane have metered parking, and the hours of operation, parking time limit and operating instructions are written on the meter.
Ensure that the park can be used in the time that you require as some can not be used at certain times when the road becomes a clearway or operates as a bus zone. Be sure to check the maximum time you are allowed to park as some areas have shorter limits than others, and overstaying the limit, even if you have paid to do so, may result in a fine.
Motorcycle Parking:
There are generally advantages to parking in the city centre, if you have a motorbike. Motorbike riders generally have the same parking options and regulations as cars, however some car parks offer discount rates for motor bikes, simply because they take up less space.
Street Parking for Motorcycles:
Metered or Pay-and-Display metered parking spots are available at:
Elizabeth St, City between Edward and Creek Sts.
Turbot St, City between Edward and Wharf Sts.
Boundary St, West End near Russell St.
